Liga strugglers Málaga CF have parted company with coach Jesualdo Ferreira just five months after hiring the 64-year-old.
A three-time league winner with FC Porto, Ferreira has endured a difficult start to life at La Romareda. A 2-1 defeat by Real Sociedad de Fútbol left Los Boquerones third from bottom in the 20-team division, with the worst defensive record in the top flight. After one point from five league outings, club officials decided it was time for a change.
"We wish Jesualdo Ferreira the best of luck in his future endeavours and professional career," a statement read. Youth team coach Rafa Gil will take temporary charge until a replacement is found. Málaga are away to RCD Espanyol on Saturday.
