Getafe CF are in the hunt for a new coach after severing ties with Míchel following a 16th-placed finish in the Spanish Liga.

The 48-year-old former Real Madrid CF and Spain midfielder makes way after a tough campaign in which Getafe finished just one point off the third relegation position occupied by RC Deportivo La Coruña.

Míchel had taken charge of the Azulones in April 2009 and immediately steered them to top-flight safety. He further enhanced his reputation by taking the club from the Madrid metropolitan area to sixth in the Liga in 2009/10, earning UEFA Europa League qualification.
