Promoted RC Deportivo La Coruña have unveiled Víctor Fernández as their new coach.
The 53-year-old Fernández was unveiled by the 2004 UEFA Champions League semi-finalists shortly after it was announced that Fernando Vázquez would not be continuing at the helm of the Galician club.
Most recently taken charge of KAA Gent, with whom he parted company in September 2013, Fernández coached Real Zaragoza to UEFA Cup Winners' Cup glory in 1994/95 during the first of two spells at his home-town club. He has also had stints at CD Tenerife, RC Celta de Vigo, Real Betis Balompié and FC Porto.
Isaac Cuenca was almost immediately revealed as Fernández's first signing after the 23-year-old, released by FC Barcelona, agreed a one-year deal with a Depor team that finished runners-up in the second division last term.
