Celta switch for López

RC Celta de Vigo have reached an agreement with UD Las Palmas over the transfer of Ángel López.
RC Celta de Vigo have reached an agreement with UD Las Palmas over the transfer of Spanish Under-21 international Ángel López to the Galician club.

Share system
Celta, flying high in sixth place in the Primera División, are to pay second-division Las Palmas €1.26m to acquire 75 per cent of the player's registration. The deal will allow the Canary Islands team to pay off some of their debts while retaining an interest in the full back, who is a product of their youth system.

European goal
López had been linked with a number of top Spanish sides, including Valencia CF, FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol. However, he joins a Celta team who are well placed to continue their pursuit of a European place in the second half of the season after Sunday's 2-0 victory over Barcelona.
