• Ari Lahti is an experienced investment banker and business leader with almost 30 years of experience within capital markets. Lahti is married, has four children and lives in Helsinki.

• Lahti has been a majority owner and chairman of the board of Finnish Football League club Kuopion Palloseura since 2006. He has a strong background in football administration in Finland. He was chairman of the Finnish Football League from 1997 to 2000, and vice-chairman from 2007 to 2018. Lahti was elected as the 16th president in the association's history on 20 January 2018.

• Alongside his election, a new major administrative and organisational programme for the FA of Finland was approved. “I trust that we are at a major turning point in the FA’s history," he said. "The approved programme will also provide us with tools to really develop Finnish football at all levels."
