League Cup winners Olympique de Marseille moved to the top of the French table with a comfortable 3-0 home win against FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.
Gabriel Heinze broke the deadlock after just nine minutes, and the contest looked to be all but over when Hatem Ben Arfa made it two from the penalty spot before the half-hour mark. However, it took until second-half added-time for Bakari Koné to wrap up the match for Didier Deschamps's side, who are now two points clear of Olympique Lyonnais, Montpellier Hérault SC and AJ Auxerre, with a game in hand on all three. Champions FC Girondins de Bordeaux lie a further point back in fifth, but have played a game fewer than Marseille.
