Le Graët elected French FA president

Former Guingamp mayor Noël Le Graët has been elected as the 12th president of the French Football Federation (FFF), with the 69-year-old given the reins until December 2012.

Noël Le Graët has been elected as president of the French Football Federation (FFF) by the association's federal assembly in Paris.

Le Graët, 69, steps up from vice-presidency he has held since 2005, and will be in charge until December 2012.

A successful businessman based in Brittany, Le Graët is a former mayor of Guingamp (from 1995 to 2008), president of EA Guingamp (1972-91 and 2002-11) and president of the French professional league (1991-2000).

"There is a certain emotion," he said after being confirmed as the 12th president of the association in its 92-year history. "The task is huge and will require everyone working together as soon as possible."
