Timely Gameiro seals points for ten-man PSG

Kevin Gameiro's last-gasp strike clinched a 2-1 win for ten-man Paris Saint-Germain FC against Dijon FCO to keep the capital side a point clear of Montpellier Hérault SC in Ligue 1.

Reduced to ten men in the first half at Dijon FCO, Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain FC rallied to secure a late 2-1 win and stay a point clear of Montpellier Hérault SC, who saw off SM Caen 3-0.

PSG suffered a major setback when they lost Mohamed Sissoko to a red card four minutes before the break, but they came out in determined fashion after the restart, with Siaka Tiéné quickly notching his maiden league goal for the club. Steven Paulle headed third-bottom Dijon level with 14 minutes left, but substitute Kevin Gameiro had the last word following a counterattack in added time.

Montpellier then responded with a victory of their own thanks to a trio of second-half goals against Caen. Karim Aït-Fana put the hosts ahead six minutes after the break before Suleyman Camara doubled their lead and Olivier Giroud converted a penalty in the closing seconds.

In fifth, lastly, Stade Rennais FC lie three points out of the UEFA Champions League places after being held 1-1 at home by 19th-placed AJ Auxerre. The Brittany club were left thankful for Yacine Brahimi's second-half leveller after Dennis Oliech had handed Auxerre a tenth-minute lead.
