Le Championnat contenders Olympique Lyonnais faltered on Sunday with a 2-1 defeat against FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.
Overhead kick
There was joy for leaders RC Lens at the Bonal stadium as Lyon failed to stamp their authority on their mid-table opponents and ended up being sunk by Pierre-Alain Frau's 70th-minute winner for Sochaux. Frau got on the end of a Jimmy Algerino cross to settle the game with a spectacular overhead kick to leave Lyon reeling.
Two goals for Govou
Lyon's Sidney Govou had a dramatic afternoon in Montbéliard. The French under-21 international had the misfortune to deflect a Maxence Flachez shot into his own net five minutes before the break to give Sochaux a 1-0 lead, but subsequently got on the end of Eric Carrière's pass to score an equaliser from close range five minutes after the break.
Five-point gap
The defeat leaves Lyon five points adrift of Lens, who won 2-1 away at Montpellier Hérault SC on Saturday, and have a game in hand.
