French champions Paris Saint-Germain FC got their first win of the Ligue 1 season at the third time of asking by defeating FC Nantes 2-1, while LOSC Lille were the other victors on Sunday.
After getting started with draws against Montpellier Hérault SC and AC Ajaccio, Laurent Blanc eventually got his first league win as PSG coach following a hard-fought match at Nantes. Edinson Cavani scored his second goal in French football as he drove in from an angle on the right, but the hosts were level on 52 minutes when Alex turned into his own net.
However, the elusive first win was sealed when Ezequiel Lavezzi got his opening goal of the campaign on 73 minutes, smashing in a blocked shot from close range.
Also on Sunday, LOSC put together their second victory in three league games after a first-half Salomon Kalou penalty was enough to see off previously unbeaten AS Saint-Étienne 1-0. In the other match, AC Ajaccio and OGC Nice played out a goalless draw in Corsica.
