Rolland Courbis has been named coach of Montpellier Hérault SC for a second time following the departure of Jean Fernandez last week.
The 60-year-old was initially in charge from 2007-2009, during which time he guided Montpellier back up to the top flight. "I'm not coming in as a magician. I don't believe in shock therapy," he said. "In the short term, the priority is the two matches coming up against Saint-Étienne and Bastia. Then there is the winter break."
Courbis takes over the reins with the 2011/12 French champions five points clear of the relegation zone in 17th place having gone eight Ligue 1 games without a win. His first assignment comes at home to AS Saint-Étienne on Friday.
