Paris Saint-Germain required a Marko Baša own goal to salvage a 2-2 draw at home against Ligue 1 rivals LOSC Lille, who go into the winter break four points shy of Laurent Blanc's leaders.
With AS Monaco FC having lost 2-1 at home to Valenciennes FC on Friday, Paris prepared to welcome third-place LOSC knowing they could end the year five points out in front. They started well too, Zlatan Ibrahimović finding the net via a deflected free-kick on 36 minutes.
The visitors nonetheless mustered a reply before the interval through Rio Mavuba, and Salomon Kalou put them ahead from the penalty spot shortly after the restart, former LOSC left-back Lucas Digne having fouled Franck Béria. Victory would have lifted Réné Girard's men within a point of their hosts, but Baša turned into his own net following a corner with 18 minutes remaining.
Also on Sunday, FC Girondins de Bordeaux kept themselves in fourth by holding Olympique de Marseille to a 2-2 draw, though they let slip a two-goal lead. Jussiê and Nicolas Maurice-Belay had given Bordeaux an excellent platform with 66 minutes gone at the Stade Vélodrome, but Alaixys Romao and André-Pierre Gignac replied with quick-fire goals for OM.
The scoreline between FC Lorient and Olympique Lyonnais was also 2-2, Lorient fighting back from 2-0 down. Alain Traoré levelled in added time to keep Lorient ninth, two points clear of Lyon.
