LOSC salvage point, St-Étienne hold Marseille

Third-placed LOSC Lille rescued a late point in a 2-2 draw at Évian Thonon Gaillard FC, a trick later repeated by AS Saint-Étienne against Olympique de Marseille to stay fourth.

Third-placed LOSC Lille ceded ground at the top of Ligue 1 but rescued a point in a 2-2 draw at Évian Thonon Gaillard FC, before AS Saint-Étienne also left it late to secure a stalemate with Olympique de Marseille.

René Girard's LOSC went behind twice at Évian, the first time through Kévin Berigaud's 15th-minute opener for the hosts. Divock Origi got Les Dogues back on terms, but the visitors looked destined for defeat following Cédric Mongongu's second-half penalty. However, Ryan Mendes scored three minutes into added time to secure a draw which leaves LOSC 13 points off leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

St-Étienne are three points back but looked set to surrender fourth place to Marseille when Nicolas N'Koulou prodded in Dimitri Payet's 64th-minute free-kick. Former OM striker Brandão nonetheless secured a share of the spoils with a 92nd-minute effort to keep his team in the division's UEFA Europa League berth.

Olympique Lyonnais also kept up the chase for a European finish by posting a 3-1 win against bottom side AC Ajaccio. Dennis Oliech's 81st-minute strike set up a tense finale after Gueïda Fofana and Jimmy Briand had put hosts Lyon two in front, but Bafétimbi Gomis' late goal sealed the win.
