Paris in the swing, LOSC stumble on

An Edinson Cavani strike and two own goals kept Paris Saint-Germain marching toward the French title, with nine-man LOSC Lille just about clinging on for victory at Toulouse FC.

Paris Saint-Germain coped well in the absence of injured striker Zlatan Ibrahimović, moving 16 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with a 3-0 win against Stade de Reims.

With the league's top scorer nursing a thigh problem, Edinson Cavani stepped into the breach, converting from Gregory van der Wiel's cross two minutes before the interval. Despite resting Thiago Motta, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Blaise Matuidi in anticipation of next week's UEFA Champions League decider at Chelsea FC, Laurent Blanc's side edged further in front, with substantial help from Reims' luckless Aissa Mandi, who deflected a Lucas header into his own net early in the first half and then put the ball past his goalkeeper again two minutes from the end.

Elsewhere, LOSC Lille maintained their European push with a 2-1 win at Toulouse FC, a goal from Nolan Roux and a Salomon Kalou penalty giving them a two-goal lead which they almost squandered, Serge Aurier replying late after Les Dogues had Franck Beria and Pape Soaré dismissed. André Ayew, meanwhile, scored a hat-trick on Friday night as Olympique de Marseille piled more misery on bottom club AC Ajaccio, winning 3-1.

Three of Saturday's other games ended in draws, with relegation-haunted FC Sochaux-Montbéliard contriving to let a 2-0 half-time lead to slip, ending up with a 2-2 at SC Bastia.
