Laurent Blanc has signed a new two-year contract as Paris Saint-Germain coach until summer 2016 after completing their successful title defence on Wednesday.
Blanc, 48, replaced Real Madrid CF-bound Carlo Ancelotti in the summer on an initial two-year deal, and not only retained the Ligue 1 championship with three games still to play but also led Paris to victory in the French League Cup. They exited the UEFA Champions League in the quarter-finals but will be back in the group stage next term.
Former France coach Blanc said: "I am very happy to continue with Paris Saint-Germain. I want to be part of this project over the long term – it's the most ambitious project in European football. Together we will dream bigger."
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Paris president, added: "It is perfectly justified to show our confidence in Laurent Blanc. We are delighted with his results this season, as well as the very attractive football the team has played. We are convinced we will win a lot more trophies together."
