Hannover and Wolfsburg on the rise

Mohammed Abdellaoue hit the only goal of the game at 1. FC Kaiserslautern as Hannover 96 moved up to third in the Bundesliga, and VfL Wolfsburg made it three wins on the trot.

Hannover 96 catapulted themselves up to third place in the Bundesliga reckoning with a 1-0 victory at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, and there was a third straight success for VfL Wolfsburg as they beat SC Freiburg 2-1.

Mohammed Abdellaoue made the difference for Hannover with 33 minutes gone to move his side within five points of leaders 1. FSV Mainz 05. They also find themselves four ahead of Wolfsburg, for whom Grafite struck a goal in either half to keep their recovery going. Beaten in their opening three league outings, Steve McClaren's men now lie sixth.
