TSG 1899 Hoffenheim coach Marco Pezzaiuoli will leave the club in the summer, the Bundesliga outfit have announced.
Pezzaiuoli was appointed by Hoffenheim in January having previously been assistant to Ralf Rangnick, his predecessor in the role. However, the man that led Germany to the 2009 UEFA European Under-17 Championship title has overseen just three victories in 12 matches since the winter break, only the 15th best Bundesliga record of 2011, leaving Hoffenheim in the bottom half.
Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner said: "The situation after the change of coach and the players we lost in the winter was not easy for Marco Pezzaiuoli and the club. But given developments in recent weeks, we have decided to begin next season with a new head coach. It is also clear that there are no more excuses for the team and that they are now responsible for going into the remaining matches fully focused and wanting to do well."
