An added-time goal from Luiz Gustavo got FC Bayern München's Bundesliga campaign up and running at VfL Wolfsburg while Borussia Dortmund came unstuck against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
Having lost to VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach on the opening day, Bayern looked like drawing a blank for the second week in succession until Gustavo's late intervention. Dortmund succumbed to Sejad Salihović's early effort at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, though Ruhr rivals FC Schalke 04 had no such trouble in front of goal as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar hit a hat-trick in a 5-1 win against 1. FC Köln.
Hannover 96 warmed up for their first European fixture in 19 years with a 2-1 victory at 1. FC Nürnberg. Mirko Slomka's team, who host Sevilla FC on Thursday in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off tie, followed up last week's defeat of Hoffenheim with another three points thanks to Mohammed Abdellaoue and a penalty from Konstantin Rausch.
Joining Hannover on six points are 1. FSV Mainz 05 after a 2-0 triumph at SC Freiburg, and Hamburger SV drew 2-2 with Hertha BSC Berlin. Mönchengladbach tied 1-1 against VfB Stuttgart in the late game to leave both sides on four points.
