FC Bayern München's march towards the Bundesliga title continued as they made it 11 league wins in succession with a dominant 5-0 success against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Though Bayer 04 Leverkusen had cut the gap with victory on Saturday, Josep Guardiola's men responded in kind to restore their 13-point cushion. They were set on their way 12 minutes in as Mario Götze controlled on his chest before volleying into the corner. Franck Ribéry pounced on a loose ball in the area to slot in a second a minute before the interval, while Arjen Robben and Dante added to the scoreline within three second-half minutes to put the result beyond doubt. Mario Mandžukić put the icing on the cake, adding a fifth in the 89th minute.
After waiting 18 games for a first win of the season, 1. FC Nürnberg made it two in a row in the day's other game as they defeated Hertha BSC Berlin 3-1 to move out of the bottom three. The three points looked a long way off when Adrián Ramos put the hosts ahead just four minutes in but Markus Feulner's first of the season drew things level on 20 minutes. Josip Drmic tucked in the rebound after Daniel Ginczek's effort came back off the post 68 minutes in before the same man wrapped up the points from the penalty spot in added time.
