Olympiacos CFP wrapped up the Greek Super League title ahead of schedule on Sunday, winning 3-2 at Panionios GSS to build an unassailable eleven-point lead over nearest rivals Panathinaikos FC with three games remaining and claim a fifth straight championship.

Dudu winner
Matt Derbyshire headed the defending champions ahead after 22 minutes, but the home side refused to wilt and turned the game around through Lourenço da Silva (45) and Anderson Gonzaga (51), the former turning in a Giannis Maniatis cross and the latter punishing a goalkeeping error. Olympiacos were not to be denied, though, and equalised when Predrag Djordjević's long-range effort was deflected in for a 61st-minute own goal by Maniatis. Brazilian striker Dudu then earned the visitors victory 18 minutes from time and, with second-placed Panathinaikos drawing 1-1 at Asteras Tripolis FC, that meant top billing was secured.

Double dream
Panathinaikos were the last team to deny Olympiacos the league title, in 2003/04, and this latest success takes the Karaiskakis Stadium outfit's tally to 12 in the last 13 years and 37 overall. For coach Ernesto Valverde, meanwhile, it is his first piece of silverware since taking over last summer and he will now be hoping to secure a domestic double. Olympiacos also have their eye on the Greek Cup and look well placed for a berth in the final after drawing the first leg of their semi-final 2-2 away at Tripolis last Wednesday. In European terms, the club have now booked themselves a place in next season's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
