Promoted Greek Super League outfit FC Kavala have signed Liverpool FC goalkeeper Charles Itandje on loan for the remainder of the season. The 26-year-old has made seven first-team appearances for Liverpool since moving to Anfield from RC Lens in August 2007.

Meanwhile Olympique Lyonnais, UEFA Champions League Group E rivals of Liverpool, have allowed winger Anthony Mounier, 21, to join OGC Nice for a fee of €2.5m.

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC have made a double swoop with the loan signing of FK Crvena Zvezda's Ecuador midfielder Segundo Castillo and the permanent addition of striker Stefan Maierhofer from SK Rapid Wien for a fee reported to be in excess of €2m. Wolves have an option to bring in Castillo on a full-time basis next summer.

Uruguayan international midfielder Diego Arismendi has become Stoke City FC's latest acquisition. The 21-year-old moves from Club Nacional de Football for an initial €3m fee and has signed a four-year deal with the Potters. "It's a dream come true to come and play in the Premier League," he said. "I was impressed by the welcome I received from the club."

Getafe CF have snapped up Real Madrid CF full-back Miguel Torres for a fee believed to be in the region of €2m. Torres, who has signed a five-year contract, made 52 league appearances for Real in the past three seasons before following Jordi Codina and Dani Parejo in making the cross-town switch to Getafe in recent weeks.

FC Barcelona defender Henrique, 22, and Newcastle United FC striker Xisco have moved to Real Racing Club on season-long loan deals. Centre-back Henrique, who had been capped once by Brazil, signed for Barça from SE Palmeiras last year but spent the entire campaign on loan at Bayer 04 Leverkusen while Xisco returns to Spain after one year in England.

Parma FC have signed Swiss international midfielder Blerim Džemaili, 23, on a season-long loan from Serie B outfit Torino FC with the option to bring him in permanently next summer. Striker Daniele Vantaggiato has moved in the opposite direction – also on loan – as part of the deal.

Cagliari Calcio have added UC Sampdoria midfielder Daniele Dessena to their ranks for an undisclosed fee while Sampdoria have strengthened themselves, taking striker Nicola Pozzi on loan from Empoli FC for the rest of the season.

US Città di Palermo have loaned defensive midfielder Manuele Blasi from SSC Napoli for the remainder of the campaign with the option of a permanent transfer next summer.
