Juventus's trip to AS Livorno Calcio looked to be ill-starred when their team bus crashed into the back of a police car on Friday night, and they had to cling on for a point with ten men in Tuscany.
Home fans sensed an upset when Antonio Filippini crashed a powerful header past Gianluigi Buffon after 26 minutes, but Diego set up Nicola Legrottaglie to nod in an equaliser by way of the post before the break. However, with Fabio Cannavaro taken off injured, La Vecchia Signora were living on their nerves for the final minutes following Felipe Melo's sending off for a second bookable offence.
In the evening's earlier game, Fábio Simplício curled in a late winner for US Città di Palermo as they got the better of his old side, Parma FC, to move up to fourth in the table. The Brazilian was tearful after the match, and said: "The tears? It was an emotional moment for me as I scored the decisive goal against Parma, a club that opened its doors to me in the past."
