Giampaolo named Catania coach

Marco Giampaolo has signed a two-year contract to coach Calcio Catania, replacing Siniša Mihajlović who resigned at the end of a season in which the Sicilian club finished 13th in Serie A. Giampaolo, 42, was sacked by AC Siena last autumn having previously coached Ascoli Calcio 1898 and Cagliari Calcio among others. "Giampaolo is a good coach, very professional and really talented," said sporting director Pietro Lo Monaco. "Tactically he is one of the best in Italy."
