AC Milan are the new leaders of Serie A after a 3-1 home win against US Città di Palermo lifted the Rossoneri a point clear of S.S. Lazio, beaten 1-0 by lowly AC Cesena.
A 77th-minute penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimović turned the game in Milan's favour after Armin Bačinovič (63) had cancelled out Pato's first-half opener. Robinho (83) added the third three minutes after replacing Filippo Inzaghi. That enabled Milan to usurp Lazio at the top following the Biancocelesti's loss at Cesena, whose first win in eight league games was earned by Marco Parolo (85).
Lazio are a point clear of SSC Napoli, who are up to third as a result of a 1-0 triumph at Cagliari Calcio secured by Ezequiel Lavezzi's 94th-minute effort. FC Internazionale Milano drew 1-1 at US Lecce, while Juventus played out the same scoreline with Brescia Calcio. AS Roma's climb up the table continued with a 3-2 home victory against ACF Fiorentina, the Giallorossi's third successive league win. Elsewhere, Genoa CFC's first match under the guidance of Davide Ballardini ended in a 1-0 defeat of Bologna FC.
