After holding AS Roma to a goalless draw at the Stadio Olimpico, AC Milan have been crowned champions of Italy for the 18th time.
The Rossoneri required just a point from their trip to the Italian capital in order to establish an unassailable nine-point lead at the top of Serie A and came away with exactly that following a professional performance.
Milan came the closest to scoring when Robinho hit the post with a curling shot in the second half. Zlatan Ibrahimović also had a stinging free-kick well saved by Doni but in the end a point proved sufficient to end Milan's seven-year wait for a title.
Massimiliano Allegri could cap a memorable maiden season in charge by completing the double, although they first have to get past US Città di Palermo in the Coppa Italia semi-finals. The second leg is played in Sicily on 11 May with the tie delicately poised at 2-2.
Tonight's draw took Roma level on points with fourth-placed city rivals S.S. Lazio, who have a tricky visit to Udinese Calcio on Sunday. Earlier in the day, Palermo moved to within three points of Juventus, in seventh, with a 2-1 win against already-relegated AS Bari.
