Chievo shock Juventus with second-half comeback

Juventus squandered a two-goal lead for the second successive home game as AC Chievo Verona salvaged a 2-2 draw which leaves the Bianconeri battling to qualify for Europe next season.

Juventus's hopes of playing UEFA Europa League football next season suffered a setback when they drew 2-2 at home with AC Chievo Verona.

The Bianconeri − who started the game four points adrift of sixth-placed S.S. Lazio − appeared to be heading for a straightforward win once Alessandro Del Piero opened the scoring with a 13th-minute penalty. Del Piero then turned provided for Alessandro Matri to to extend Juventus's lead ten minutes after the break.

Chievo, however, stunned their hosts with two goals in 60 seconds midway through the second half, Fernando Uribe and Gennaro Sardo both scoring with the aid of a rebound off the post. Juventus also squandered a two-goal lead in their previous home fixture, a 2-2 draw with Calcio Catania on 23 April.
