Miroslav Klose's added-time goal helped S.S. Lazio come from behind to end ten-man AS Roma's series of five consecutive Rome derby wins, on a day in which five of the seven Serie A fixtures ended scoreless.
Lazio moved to within a point of the summit thanks to Klose's side-footed finish in the closing moments. Pablo Osvaldo had earlier given the Giallorossi a fifth-minute lead before Simon Kjaer was sent off after giving away a penalty, which Hernanes converted. The only other of Sunday's games to feature goals yielded a victory for Bologna FC, who lifted themselves off the foot of the table with their first win of the season, Gaston Ramirez and Robert Acquafresca scoring in a 2-0 win at Novara Calcio.
The goal drought included matches involving leading duo Juventus and Udinese Calcio. Udinese were held at Atalanta BC after having Giampiero Pinzi sent off, while Juve could not find their way past AC Chievo Verona. Cagliari Calcio sit a point behind the frontrunners and missed their own chance to lead the way as they drew with AC Siena. Winless AC Cesena dropped to the foot of the table following a stalemate with ACF Fiorentina.
