S.S. Lazio came from two goals and one man down to beat AC Cesena 3-2 at the Stadio Olimpico and take third place in Serie A from Udinese Calcio.
Adrian Mutu gave the visitors an early lead with a close-range shot from Vincenzo Iaquinta's pass. Iaquinta, signed on loan from Juventus in January, then made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after Mutu was fouled in the box, with Abdoulay Konko sent off as a consequence.
However, Brazilian midfielder Hernanes halved the deficit with a powerful shot from Miroslav Klose's ball, and Senad Lulić, with his left foot, and substitute Libor Kozák, with his right, scored two more between the 60th and 63rd minutes to give Edoardo Reja's team the three points.
Meanwhile, AC Siena defeated SSC Napoli 2-1 in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final. Reginaldo and Gaetano D'Agostino gave the Tuscan side a two-goal lead but Emanuele Pesoli's own goal five minutes from time offered at least some hope to the Partenopei, who hit the post through Edinson Cavani and the bar through Hugo Campagnaro, for the return leg on 21 March.
