Juventus failed to displace AC Milan at the top of Serie A after drawing 0-0 with Parma FC in the first of their two games in hand on the Rossoneri.
On a night when Milan all but secured a place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals by beating Arsenal FC 4-0, Antonio Conte's team missed the opportunity to go a point clear at the summit. The Bianconeri's best opening at Parma's Stadio Tardini – the site of their last defeat in any competition, on 15 May – came as early as the fourth minute when Giorgio Chiellini headed a corner against the outside of the near post.
The Turin side will take over at the top on Saturday, however, if they beat visitors Calcio Catania, with Milan not in action until the following day when they travel to AC Cesena. Parma are up to 12th as a result of their third draw in four league games.
In the night's other fixture, Guido Marilungo (78) scored the winner as Atalanta BC moved nine points clear of the bottom three courtesy of a 1-0 home success against mid-table Genoa CFC.
