AC Milan fought back from two goals down to earn a Serie A point in a 2-2 draw at US Città di Palermo on Tuesday thanks to strikes from Riccardo Montolivo and Stephan El Shaarawy.
Chances were few and far between in the first half but the Sicilian hosts were ahead at the break courtesy of a Fabrizio Miccoli penalty, which found the bottom left-hand corner despite Marco Amelia diving the correct way. Palermo looked on course for their second win of the season when Franco Brienza opened his top-flight account for the campaign with a left-footed effort from the edge of the penalty area.
However, Massimiliano Allegri's charges refused to lie down. Montolivo reduced the deficit on 69 minutes before El Shaarawy's seventh league goal this term earned the Rossoneri a share of the spoils which lifts them into ninth place. Palermo rise to 16th in the standings.
