Pogba strikes late to extend Juventus lead

Paul Pogba's last-gasp goal gave Juventus a 2-1 win over Bologna FC and stretched their Serie A lead to four points as SSC Napoli conceded second spot to FC Internazionale Milano.

Paul Pogba scored deep into added time to give Juventus a 2-1 home win against lowly Bologna FC and a four-point lead at the top of Serie A as SSC Napoli conceded second place to FC Internazionale Milano.

Pogba and Andrea Pirlo inspired the Bianconeri from the off, but it took until the 54th minute for the deadlock to be broken, Fabio Quagliarella turning in Emanuele Giaccherini's header across goal. With 19 minutes to go Bologna's Saphir Taider beat Gianluigi Buffon at his far post, but there was a sting in the tail for the visitors as Pogba converted Sebastian Giovinco's last-gasp cross.

Carlos Carmona's 19th-minute goal earned Atalanta BC a 1-0 home victory over Napoli, who are now behind Inter. The Nerazzurri trailed UC Sampdoria at half-time in Milan, yet on 51 minutes Andrea Costa was sent off for conceding a penalty converted by Diego Milito. Rodrigo Palacio and Fredy Guarín added further goals, and while the away team also lost Tommaso Berni to a late red card, Eder Citadin Martin reduced the deficit to 3-2 deep into injury time.

S.S. Lazio, in fourth, have a four-point cushion over fifth-placed ACF Fiorentina – who play Genoa CFC in Thursday's only game – after coming from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Torino FC.
