S.S. Lazio have retreated to Brescia ahead of their weekend Serie A meeting with Brescia Calcio following angry protests by supporters at their Formello training ground on Tuesday.
'Scandalous' behaviour
The unprecedented decision was made by the Roman club's president, Sergio Cragnotti, on Wednesday. "It is scandalous what our fans did at Formello," he said. "It seems that they have forgotten too quickly ten years of great successes. We cannot accept this kind of protest any longer and have decided to set up our training camp in the north of Italy."
Record derby defeat
Lazio, Italian champions in 2000, were humbled 5-1 by AS Roma on Sunday and sit just seventh in the top flight, 17 points adrift of their city rivals. The defeat sparked 400 fans to vent their frustration and led to training being delayed for two hours while police restored order.
