Rossi treble downs Juventus, Inter foiled

Giuseppe Rossi hit a hat-trick as ACF Fiorentina came from two goals down to beat Juventus 4-2, before Torino FC conjured a late equaliser to draw 3-3 against FC Internazionale Milano.

ACF Fiorentina posted a dramatic 4-2 comeback victory at home to Juventus on a day when Torino FC conjured a late equaliser to draw 3-3 with ten-man FC Internazionale Milano.

Antonio Conte's side raced into a 2-0 lead shortly before the interval, Paul Pogba finishing tidily after Carlos Tévez had struck from the spot. They were left wobbling, though, when Giuseppe Rossi scored twice inside ten second-half minutes, before Joaquín completed a remarkable turnaround. Rossi then executed a sublime finish for his hat-trick to leave the visitors in third, five points shy of the summit.

There was more drama in the late game as Inter were denied a victory having lost goalkeeper Samir Handanovič to a fifth-minute red card for bringing down Alessio Cerci. His replacement Juan Pablo Carrizo immediately saved Cerci's spot kick, and although Alexander Farnerud soon put Torino ahead, Fredy Guarín levelled just before the break. Ciro Immobile then put the hosts back in front, but they needed Nicola Bellomo's last-minute strike to secure a point after two-goal Rodrigo Palacio had fired Inter into the lead.

Elsewhere, promoted US Sassuolo Calcio ended an opening sequence of seven games without success by beating Bologna FC 2-1, while UC Sampdoria broke their own duck by prevailing by the same scoreline at AS Livorno Calcio. Meanwhile, Alberto Gilardino struck twice as Genoa CFC defeated AC Chievo Verona 2-1, Atalanta BC saw off SS Lazio 2-1 and Hellas Verona FC climbed into fourth by edging Parma FC 3-2.
