AS Livorno Calcio have reinstalled Davide Nicola as their coach after parting company with Domenico Di Carlo, whose tenure spanned just three months.
Di Carlo's fate was sealed by Saturday's 3-0 defeat at AC Milan, which left the 19th-placed Tuscany outfit three points adrift of safety with four games remaining. "The club would like to thank to Mr Di Carlo for his dedication, professionalism and effort," read a club statement. "The post of managing the first team of Livorno has been entrusted to Davide Nicola."
Nicola, a former Genoa CFC and Torino FC defender in his playing days, had been replaced by technical director Attilo Perotti in January, six months after leading Livorno to promotion. His second spell in charge begins at home to SS Lazio next Sunday.
