AS Roma have added experienced midfielder Seydou Keita to their squad ahead of next season's UEFA Champions League group stage.
Keita, 34, arrives at Roma from Valencia CF on a free transfer and has signed a one-year contract. A two-time UEFA Champions League winner with FC Barcelona, Keita only joined Valencia in January following an 18-month stint in China with Dalian Aerbin FC.
The Malian international started out at Olympique de Marseille in 1999 and also played for FC Lorient and RC Lens in France. He spent one season with Sevilla FC before switching to Barcelona where he claimed three Spanish Liga titles, two FIFA Club World Cups and two UEFA Super Cups as well as the 2008/09 and 2010/11 UEFA Champions Leagues.
Roma will return to Europe's premier club competition for the first time since 2010/11 after finishing second in Serie A in coach Rudi Garcia's first campaign. The Frenchman recently committed his future to the Giallorossi until 2018.
