Genoa CFC have released Luciano Figueroa, allowing the Argentinian striker to return to former club CA Rosario Central on a two-and-a-half year deal. Figueroa, 28, arrived at Genoa from Villarreal CF in 2006 but was promptly ruled out for 20 months by a serious knee injury. He spent 2008/09 on loan at CA Boca Juniors before returning this season, but has struggled to claim a place in the starting XI and heads to Rosario in search of the form that saw him score nine times in 15 international appearances between 2004 and 2005.
