Nationality: Norwegian
Date of birth: 14 March 1968
Association president since: 2010
• Born in Bergen but raised in Alversund, Yngve Hallén moved to Songdal to train as a teacher but was never to move into the profession, electing instead to work as a journalist and in the central administration at the local university.
• As a student, he was active in student and youth affairs, and held national board positions. Later, he became a local politician and was deputy mayor for a period. He stood for the Social Democrats, and pursued his interests in football with a position as a director at local side Sogndal Fotball, who regularly play in the Norwegian top division. He was a board member within the Norwegian league organisation before he was elected as president.
• Elected as president of the Norway Football Association in March 2010, Hallén vowed to make the sport even more inclusive in the future, saying: "Our challenge for the times ahead is to use all the volunteers in Norwegian football to create even more activity, and make football even more of a game for everyone. We have come a long way in Norway in this regard, but we can do even better."
