Norway senior assistant Tor Ole Skullerud has been named as Ole Gunnar Solskjær's replacement as Molde FK coach.
Solskjær was unveiled as the new man at the helm of Cardiff City FC 11 days ago, and Molde have moved swiftly to fill the vacancy with Skullerud signing a contract running until the end of the 2016 season. The 43-year-old was, says Molde CEO Tarje Nordstrand Jacobsen, the club's first choice.
Skullerud, who guided Norway to the semi-finals of last summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship before stepping up as assistant to the senior side, said: "I am proud and humble to be starting work at such a great club. This is an ambitious club and I hope that the team will continue to challenge for honours in Norway and make a good impression in European football as well."
Skullerud will have ten weeks to work with his new charges before the 2014 season kicks off. Under Solskjær they won the Norwegian Cup last year though their two-year reign as champions ended with a sixth-place league finish.
