Reis accepts Varzim job

Mario Reis has taken charge of Portugal's bottom club Varzim SC.

Mario Reis has taken charge of Portugal's bottom club Varzim SC.

Good pedigree
54-year-old Reis - who has been in charge at SC Salgueiros and won the Portuguese Cup with Boavista FC - terminated his current deal with second division FC Maia and has accepted the vacant post at the Varzim stadium.

Disappointing performance
The club parted company with coach Rogério Gonçalves after last Sunday's Portuguese first division defeat to FC Paços de Ferreira. The club are at the foot of the table after claiming just two wins and nine points from 13 matches this season.
