Slišković takes over at Unirea Alba Iulia

Published: Friday 12 March 2010, 19.09CET
Former Bosnia and Herzegovina coach Blaž Slišković has agreed a three-month contract to take over at FC Unirea Alba Iulia, the bottom club in Romania's Liga 1, with a one-year option if he saves them from relegation. The 50-year-old joins a team who have won just three times in 20 league matches this term, leaving them seven points shy of safety. Given their plight, the former Olympique de Marseille and RC Lens player has pledged go on the attack from the off, saying: "I will play in an ultra-offensive way, no matter whether we are home or away." His first match is at home to FC Rapid Bucureşti on Sunday.
