Midfielder Laurenţiu Buş scored the only goal of the Romanian Super Cup on Sunday, with champions FC Oţelul Galaţi overcoming FC Steaua Bucureşti in Piatra Neamt.

The 23-year-old found the target with a fine low shot from the edge of the area on 14 minutes as Dorinel Munteanu's side proved good value for their 1-0 victory – the club's first Super Cup success. "I am very proud of my goal, especially because it was the winner," said Buş. "This is our moment; we proved we deserved to win the title."

The Romanian First Division season kicks off this weekend. Oţelul will compete in the UEFA Champions League group stage while Romanian Cup winners Steaua will start their continental campaign in the UEFA Europa League play-offs.
