Reigning Romanian champions FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti have named Gheorghe Mulţescu as their new coach, with Cornel Ţălnar stepping back.

Managerial reshuffle
The 56-year-old Mulţescu has signed a contract until the end of the 2008/09 season with Ţălnar, who had been acting head coach for the last three months, becoming one of his three assistants. Cornel Dinu will stay on as the club's technical director as Dinamo look to improve on sixth place in the table, having been knocked out of the Romanian Cup in the quarter-finals last week.

Broad experience
Mulţescu made over 400 league appearances for FC Steaua Bucureşti, Dinamo and CS Jiul Petrosani and started his coaching career at Dinamo in 1990. He subsequently was in charge of a number of Turkish teams, including Samsunspor, Kayserispor, Adanaspor, MKE Ankaragücü and Gaziantepspor and was coach of Dinamo's LIGA I rivals FC Universitatea Cluj earlier this season.
