PFC CSKA Moskva warmed up for their midweek UEFA Champions League trip to Milan by beating FC Anzhi Makhachkala 2-1 in a tough Russian Premier-Liga fixture on Friday.
The Army Men fell behind after 11 minutes when goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev failed to collect a cross from the right and Andrei Streltsov was able to roll the ball into an empty net. CSKA drew level four minutes into the second half thanks to a lovely free-kick from Keisuke Honda, while Tomáš Necid headed the winner from Georgi Schennikov's deep cross in the 62nd minute.
With an eye on Wednesday's quarter-final first leg against FC Internazionale Milano, coach Leonid Slutsky brought in debutant Kiril Nababkin, Elvir Rahimić and Pavel Mamaev for Aleksei Berezutski, Deividas Šemberas and Alan Dzagoev respectively. CSKA top the nascent Russian standings with seven points from three games but could be overtaken this weekend.
