Henrik Larsson’s penalty gave Celtic FC a 1-0 win over Heart Of Midlothian FC on Saturday to maintain their seven-point lead in the Scottish Premier League.
The Sweden striker scored from the penalty spot moments before the half-time whistle at Tynecastle stadium for what proved to be the only goal of the game. But Celtic’s Glaswegian neighbours Rangers FC kept the pressure up on Martin O’Neill’s side with a comfortable win over Dunfermline Athletic FC .
Shota Arvaladze and Tore-Andre Flo scored two goals each for Rangers as they ran out 4-0 winners at Ibrox stadium. Dunfermline’s misery was further compounded by the dismissal of Youssef Rossi in the final minutes of the game for a second bookable offence.
Scottish Premier League newcomers Livingston FC remain in third place with a dramatic 1-0 win over Dundee FC. Livingston’s Carlos Aurellio had been sent off in the first half at Almondvale, but the home side scored what proved to be the winning goal through Barry Wilson after 59 minutes. Dundee's Argentinian centre-back Walter del Rio was sent off 15 minutes from time for a second yellow card.
