The visitors had gone in front at Ibrox through Andis Shala (24), but two Kris Boyd penalties gave the Scottish Premier League leaders the advantage before half-time. Nacho Novo (48) ensured Rangers of a two-goal cushion but a Steven Whittaker own goal (63) and Mihael Kovačević strike (80) put United on level terms. Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra missed the game with a hamstring tear that will keep him out of next weekend's Scottish League Cup final against Saint Mirren FC.
