Motherwell FC have filled the void left by Craig Brown's departure to Scottish Premier League rivals Aberdeen FC with the appointment of Stuart McCall as manager.
Ex-Scotland midfielder McCall, whose only previous managerial post was at Bradford City FC, has taken over at Fir Park on a two-and-a-half-year deal. McCall, 46, who won 40 caps for his country, enjoyed seven seasons in Scotland as a player with Rangers FC between 1991 and 1998.
"I am excited by the job and will give it my all," he said after assuming the helm with Motherwell sixth in the top flight. "I know Motherwell very well as a club and have long respected what they are all about. I have inherited a good squad with a proven system for identifying new and young talent. I want to build on that starting today to ensure we compete for success in the league, cup and Europe." Motherwell exited in the UEFA Europa League play-offs this term.
