Sparta goalkeeper Vaclík bound for Basel

Tomáš Vaclík has left Czech champions AC Sparta Praha for their Swiss counterparts FC Basel 1893, with the goalkeeper set to fill the No1 shirt vacated by Yann Sommer.

Swiss champions FC Basel 1893 have found a successor for goalkeeper Yann Sommer, bringing in AC Sparta Praha's Tomáš Vaclík to be their new No1.

The 25-year-old Czech keeper has signed a four-year contract with the option of a further one-year extension, and will replace Sommer, who is moving to German side VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach. Vaclík started his career with FC Vítkovice, and represented FK Viktoria Žižkov before signing for 2013/14 Czech double winners Sparta in January 2012. On 14 November 2012, he made his senior international debut in the Czech Republic's 3-0 friendly win against Slovakia.
