ŠK Slovan Bratislava made up for missing out on the 1. Liga title to MŠK Žilina by easing to a 6-0 defeat of FC Spartak Trnava in the Slovakian Cup final.
Kornel Saláta set the capital club on their way with a tenth-minute header, a lead which was swiftly doubled by Mario Božič's free-kick. Jakub Sylvestr made it three 12 minutes before half-time, while after the break Michal Breznaník (65), Karim Guédé (67) and Martin Dobrotka (88) rounded off a comprehensive victory. Slovan coach Štefan Horný, whose team finished five points shy of Žilina, said: "I'm glad we were able to repair our bad finish in the league. We scored from two standard situations and jumped into the driving seat. It was surprising that Trnava then played with such resignation."
