Ján Kováčik has been re-elected as president of the Slovak Football Association (SFZ) for a second four-year term at the association's assembly in Poprad. "My thanks to everyone who has faith in me," said the 51-year-old. "I am ready to fulfil your expectations in my second mandate."
The AFZ has moved to new offices in Bratislava and built a national training centre in Poprad. "We cannot guarantee sporting success," said Kováčik, "but we will do everything to create the best conditions for all our national teams, especially the senior national team."
Infrastructure improvements, in particular stadium construction and reconstruction, are among the association's priorities, with the help of government funding. "This must be a period of progress at all levels," said Kováčik. "We are determined to invest money in young players, talent and our national teams."
