Fenerbahçe SK missed the chance to move top of the 1. Lig on Sunday as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Malatyaspor.

Honours even
Serhat Akin put Fenerbahçe ahead after eleven minutes but Malatyaspor struck back when Fazli Ulusoy drove the ball home off a post. Nikola Lazetic crossed from the right for Ogün Temizkanoglu to restore Fenerbahçe's lead but Malatyaspor Artim Shakiri's equaliser ensured Fenerbahçe stayed second to Galatasaray on goal difference.

European push
Meanwhile, Gençlerbirligi SK kept alive their hopes of a UEFA Cup place as they overcame Antalyaspor 1-0 by virtue of Okan Kog's goal 19 minutes from time. Nuri Kamburoglu had earlier seen his penalty hit the Antalyaspor post.

Ankaragücü shocked
Elsewhere, Samsunspor upset fourth-placed MKE Ankaragücü 2-0 thanks to goals from Sandro Marcelo Souza and Mehmet Hilmi Yilmaz while Diyarbakirspor drew 1-1 with Kocaelispor.
